The Northern Arapaho Tribe's Wind River Casino has discontinued offering bingo. Casino manager Jim Conrad said the operation has moved high stakes slot machines into the space once used for bingo. Conrad said the slot machines are more lucrative than bingo. However, Conrad said the tribe was not abandoning bingo. The game will be offered at the tribal community center Great Plains Hall in Arapahoe, he said. In addition, the tribe's proposed casino north of the current facility along Wyoming 789 will include space for the game. ''Bingo is very important,'' Conrad said. ''Gambling has always been a tradition _ part of history of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. Bingo is always going to be part of us.'' |
