Andreas Hoivold won the first ever European Poker Tour (EPT) tournament to be held in Germany. The Norwegian defeated Italy's Cristiano Bianco heads-up to win the German Open and €672,000 in prize money.

The duel for the title between Andreas Hoivold and Cristiano Bianco was a short one. Already in the second heads-up hand, Hoivold secured his victory when he called a pre-flop all-in move from Bianco.

Bianco showed Th-9d, and was in very bad shape against Hoivold's pocket queens. When the Norwegian made a set on the flop, Bianco was in need of an even bigger miracle, which didn't come. Hoivold won the hand and became EPT Champion.
